About

Welcome to Emergency Medicine Forum!

Keeping up with the large body of Emergency Medicine information can be challenging. We offer this free, email delivered, emergency medicine hypothetical case with accompanying questions and answers, in the hopes you might find the information helpful and informative.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to comment on the presented case.

After you sign up, on a regular basis, an emergency medicine related case will be sent to the email address you designate.  Should you wish to explore the answers to the questions, you can click on the link, and it will send you to a web answer page.  Here you will not only find the answers, but also additional links for more information.   You will have the opportunity to comment in a ‘blog’ format.  We hope this will create some engaging and interesting interactions.

Cases will be available for review if you click on the library link on the left menu. They are categorized based on the ABEM Core content for Emergency medicine.

We will not share your email address or any other information with anyone else.  This is purely voluntary, and should you decide you no longer want to participate, just email to emforum@emspecialists.com with a Subject line: Remove Email Address.

I too, had been in the E.R for my body was shutting down, stomache aches, hard to breathe, and everyone done blood work but this was the only time they actually saw Kidney stones and gallbladder stones on an MRI and ultra sound.
I figured cause I still had air in my stomach from getting my tubes tied on May13th. I did not know that surgeons had the right to refuse to give a treatment to an individual just because they have to many health issues or maybe they thought the person should go home and pee out the stones which doesn’t work for everyone especially if a person has heart failure. That individual should have both Kidneys working properly. This doctor Caldwell didn’t seem to think so with me however he offered the girl in the next bed the treatment, so how was she any different. We all care about our lives. Our lives are valuable too. So now I’m still searching and begging for that treatment to be done. This is my body, and my life.

No new case since May! We miss you! I hope it’s just been a prolonged vacation, and that we will start seeing new cases soon.
